Use the Add Text tool to add articles to your broadcast, format them or edit articles you've already placed.
Click on the Add Text tool to open it. On the left side of the window are two tabs: Articles, which lets you add new articles, and My Archive, which lists all of the articles you've already placed on your broadcast. The window automatically opens to the Articles tab, and you should see "New Article" highlighted. On the right is the article that you have highlighted, in this case, "New Article."
You can type in new text, cut and paste from existing text files -- or even email in your articles. (We explore the email option in the next section.) You also can choose the color and style of the text.
To add an article, make sure that "New Article" is highlighted on the left side of the window. On the right, in the title area, highlight the text "New Article," and type your title. You can also choose a font and color for the title.
Below, in the article area, highlight "Enter Text Here," and then type in your article or cut and paste from an existing text file.

You can format your article by using the style bar just above where you entered your text. It works pretty much the same as in any word-processing program. To make your text bold or italic, click on the B or I icons (U is for underline). If you use Word to write articles, use this tool »
to insert your pasted text.
Next on the style bar are the options for left, center, right and justify text. Select the text you want to adjust and click on an option.
The next two options allow you to change font style and size. Click on the down arrow to open the window for more options.
The next option lets you add a link to other web pages. Select a word or two and click on the "Link" button. You are presented with an options box to type in the web address (or URL). Ignore the "Anchor List" option for now. The next option is the "Broken Link" button and it is for removing a web page link.
The next very cool option allows you to place an anchor tag onto text or an image. Highlight something in your article, click on the "Anchor" button to give it a name. Why is this cool, you ask? Imagine you have written a huge article that is several pages deep and you want an index to give readers a quick way to scan your article. Select text or an image, click on the anchor button and type in an appropriate, but simple name. Return to the top of your article and enter text that describes your anchor. Select this text and click on the "Link" button. Now that you have an anchor on your page, it will appear in the "Anchor List". Select it and you're done.
The next option lets you place an image. Click on a place in your article and select the "Insert an Image" button. You'll get a window showing all the images you have uploaded. Select one and insert it to your article. Note: There is no upload option, here. You'll need to use the "Multimedia" tool for that.
The last option lets you give your text color. Highlight the text and then click on the down arrow to open the color palette.
Under the Format tab, you choose how many articles you want shown in the text box. You can also decide whether or not to include your byline and posting date with every article.

If you click on the comments box, you're letting the world write comments on your broadcast that everyone can see. Whether you do this is up to you. Allowing this feature builds your readership by creating the feeling of community. The downside is that sometimes people can be rather frank, so be ready for it. You can always come back and uncheck the box.
Before we talk about the Email tab, which is addressed in the next section, let's talk about the My Archive tab, which is on the left side of the window. When you click on the tab, you'll see a list of all of your articles. If you click on a title, you should see the article on the right. You can edit or reformat the text, if you like. You can also delete an article by highlighting the title on the left and then clicking "Delete" at the bottom of the left window.
Every time you add a new text box to your broadcast, it's placed at the top of the column and pushes all the others down. You can then move it by using the edit bar.
